JayNii Cultural Troupe: a ten-man group which can still perform perfectly with only five-members. Founded in 1997 at Jamestown, Accra, the troupe has has performed at countless functions in Ghana including Ghana Tourist Board Excellence Awards, Mozambique president and Minister of Health malaria conference, KSM’s Thank God its Friday show on Metro TV, MNET and Studio 53 television of South Africa. With McTontoh of Osibisa band (U.K. based) performed on the great show dubbed “Global Call to Action against Poverty” (GCAP led by Kumi Naidoo, U.S.) alongside great artistes like Salif Keita, Orlando Julius, Fela Fumi Kuti, South African Dancers, Ethnic Productions of Kenya and numerous artistes from the African continent. At grand Durbar of Chiefs and Queen mothers, Pan African Festival (PANAFEST) and Emancipation Day Celebration chaired by H.E. the Vice President of Ghana, Minister of Tourism, Chairman of Commission on Culture, Jaynii performed for the massive audience from all over the world alongside Rita Marley, 2-face Idibia, Smile Africa(U.K.) Nu Black Art West Theatre, U.S based solo drummer Okyerema Asante, Ras Kobi, Makeda Thomas dance Project, Bahamas National Children’s Choir and many more. Jaynii performed at the British Council in Accra for Tecky Kids International school (British Institution), On national televisions like GTV and TV3 which covered the group with American Gospel Superstar, Kirk Franklin of “storm” fame at the International Conference Centre, Accra. Also, Homowo festivals organized by Vibe Fm Radio.
The troupe made the opening ceremony for the West African conference (WACIPAC), led by Keiku Uchiumi, a Japanese Information & Communication Expert in Ghana. In addition to performing, JayNii has also trained people who now perform professionally at national and international.
